Angeles College Honoring National Medical Assistants Recognition Week, Oct. 20-24 in Los Angeles


Medical assistants are at the heart of health care. Every year Medical Assistants Recognition Week (MARWeek) is celebrated during the third full week in October.

Angeles College in Los Angeles, California is recognizing all Medical Assistant Students and Alumni throughout Medical Assistants Recognition Week, Oct. 20-24, and specifically on Medical Assistants Recognition Day, Oct. 22.
Medical assisting is an allied health profession where practitioners function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. With their unique versatility, medical assistants are proving to be the allied health professional of choice for this decade and beyond. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting continues to be projected as one of the fastest growing occupations.

The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), an organization serving the professional interests and educational needs of medical assistants, promotes the national observance. The organization also provides numerous services that help medical assistants put their careers on a successful and rewarding track including education, certification, networking opportunities, advocacy and more.

The Angeles College Medical Assistant Program in Los Angeles prepares multi-skilled healthcare professionals qualified to perform administrative and clinical duties and laboratory procedures. The program will be taught through lectures, laboratory and externship training at clinical sites.
